FAQ's for Christmas boat parties

BOOKING

* What happens when I buy a ticket online?

On completion of your order, you will be emailed a DigiTicket containing a barcode and booking reference number.  You should either print this or have it on your smartphone on arrival at the boat.

 

* How do I use my DigiTickets?

You should either print your DigiTicket or have it on your smartphone on arrival at the boat. For ease of boarding it would be helpful if everyone in your party had their own printed or smartphone copy.

 

* Do you issue refunds?

No, we regret we are unable to issue refunds.

 

* Can I make group bookings?

Yes, we can accept group bookings.

 

* Can I purchase a ticket at the boat?

No, all tickets must be pre-booked.

 

GETTING THERE

* Where is the pier?

The Golden Sunrise will be leaving from Temple pier, the full address is Temple Pier, Victoria Embankment, London, WC2R 2PN. Click here to download directions and further information for Temple Pier

 

* Is car parking available?

While there is car parking on the roads we strongly advise you to use public transport to get to the boats.

 

ON THE NIGHT

* What time should I get to the pier?

The boat will be at the pier at 7.15pm for you to start boarding. We recommend you leave plenty of time to get to the pier as the boat will not wait for latecomers.

 

* What time will the boat leave?

The boat will aim to leave promptly at 7.30pm.

 

* Will the boat wait for me if I am late?

No. The boat will not wait for latecomers and so you are advised to leave plenty of time for your journey to the pier.

 

* How long is the cruise?

The cruise is 4 hours long.

 

* What time will the boat return to the pier?

The boat will return to the pier at 11.15 which is when the bars will close and the music will be lowered to background level. You then have 15 minutes to finish your drinks and disembark the boat by the end of the party at 11.30pm.

 

* What is included in my ticket?

You will receive a drinks voucher on arrival, this voucher can be exchanged at the bar for a drink of choice (excluding bottles of wine and champagne, shots or doubles) after which a pay as you go bar will operate at normal pub prices.
Chili Con Carne will be served approximately an hour into the cruise. This has intentionally been designed as food that can be eaten standing or seated. A vegetarian option can be ordered at the time of booking, please note that all vegetarian orders must be received by 5pm on the Monday preceding the cruise.

 

* Do you accept card payments onboard?

Yes we accept debit and credit cards on board.

 

* What music will the DJ play?

The DJ will play a good selection of chart and dance hits from the last 4 decades, all designed to get you on the dance floor and keep you there all night!

 

* Is there reserved seating?

No. There is seating in the lower saloon however as this is a disco cruise it is not anticipated that guests will wish to remain seated for the duration.

 

* Is there wheelchair access?

Unfortunately our boats are not suitable for wheelchairs.

 

* How many toilets are there?

There are 2 female cubicles onboard, along with one male cubicle and urinals.

 

* Is there a dress code?

We operate a smart-casual dress code, however a lot of people do like to dress up. As it is a moving vessel we recommend sensible footwear.

 

* Is there a coat check?

Due to lack of space we do not have a coat check onboard. There is an unmanned coat-rail where you may leave garments, but we take no responsibility for lost items.

 

* How can I get in contact with you?

You can call us during normal office hours on 01689 89 89 59. Our office is open Monday – Friday 9am-5pm.  In an emergency the same number can be used to get through to out of hour assistance.

BOOKING

* What happens when I buy a ticket online?

On completion of your order, you will be emailed a DigiTicket containing a barcode and booking reference number.  You should either print this or have it on your smartphone on arrival at the boat.

* How do I use my DigiTickets?

You should either print your DigiTicket or have it on your smartphone on arrival at the boat. For ease of boarding it would be helpful if everyone in your party had their own printed or smartphone copy, and as Central London will be extremely busy on New Year’s Eve mobile reception may be patchy and so we recommend that you download the ticket to your phone prior to arrival at the pier.

* Do you issue refunds?

No, we regret we are unable to issue refunds.

* Can I make group bookings?

Yes, we can accept group bookings. Please note that we are selling tickets for more than one NYE cruise and therefore you are strongly advised to double check that you have selected the correct boat at the time of booking.

* What will my boat be called?

These FAQs are for the GOLDEN STAR which is our Pay As You Go party.

* Can I still be with my friends if I book late?

We expect to sell out so if you wish to be with another group we strongly advise you to book as early as possible to guarantee being together.

* Can I purchase a ticket at the boat?

No, all tickets must be pre-booked.

 

GETTING THERE

* Where is the pier?

The Golden Sunrise will be leaving from Embankment Pier, the full address is Embankment Pier, Victoria Embankment, London, WS2N 6NU. This is in the area cordoned off by the Mayor for ticketed firework viewing and as such you will require a 'boarding pass' from the Mayor so that you can pass through security checks between the station and the pier. We normally receive these passes a few weeks before the event and we will forward it to you as soon as we receive it. You will also need to take a specific walking route to the pier and we will confirm this at the same time as sending you the boarding pass.

* Is car parking available?

You should ONLY use public transport to get to the boats. Central London will be subject to road closures well before midnight, and everywhere will be extremely busy. Attempting to drive into Central London will almost certainly mean you will miss the boat and no refund will be due.

* What should I do when I get to the pier?

When you arrive at the pier at 8.45pm please wait at the top of the pier for a member of crew to advise that the boat is ready for boarding.

* What time will the boat leave?

The boat will aim to leave promptly at 9pm.

* Will the boat wait for me if I am late?

No. The boat will not wait for latecomers and so you are advised to leave lots of time for your journey to the pier.

* How long is the cruise?

* Which drinks are available to pre-order?

You can pre-order discounted champagne and prosecco by the 23rd December, pre-ordered champagne and prosecco will be served from the lower bar at approximately 11.30pm unless otherwise requested in advance.  Discounted drinks tokens are also available to pre-order until the 23rd December.  These can be collected from the lower bar at the start of the party.  One drinks token can be used for all beers, glasses of wine, branded single spirts with mixers and soft drinks.

We will moor as close to the fireworks as we can to ensure the best view possible however it is important to note that the view of the fireworks will not be as seen on TV, however there will be lots of other boats in the same location which will, as always, create a great atmosphere.  You can see footage recorded from last year here from one of our boats.

The food will be served between 9.30 and 10pm. It has been intentionally designed as bowl food that can be eaten standing or seated.

We are restricted to certain areas of the river for health and safety reasons and the section of the Thames directly in front of the London Eye will be completely closed to river traffic during the display.
